Bioscience Americas, LLC, a leading global developer of autologous stem cell treatment centers announced today the creation of a 501 (c) (3) qualified not-for-profit charitable entity to be called Solutions for a Healthier World Foundation, Inc.
According to Bioscience Americas CEO Eric Stoffers, the Foundation’s mission will be to provide stem cell treatments to patients suffering from autoimmune diseases who are unable to afford the cost of Bioscience Americas innovative therapies.
“As we advance our efforts to develop stem cell wellness centers around the world, many of our stakeholders have indicated the desire to help people inflicted with devastating diseases who may not be able to afford them. The Solutions for a Healthier World Foundation will be positioned to provide the financial aid necessary to cover the cost of treatments”, Mr. Stoffers said.
The Foundation will be governed by a Board of Directors with Mr. Stoffers, Bioscience Americas President Bill Deegan, and Executive Vice President Tim Kopatich serving as ex-officio members of the Board.
Bioscience Americas is the international development partner of the Global Institute of Stem Cell Therapy and Research (GIOSTAR). Based at the University of California San Diego Medical Center and headed by Dr. Anand Srivastava, GIOSTAR is a consortium of eighteen world-renowned stem cell scientists working together to create cures for many of the world’s autoimmune diseases. Over the last fifteen years, GIOSTAR has been the recipient of more than $400 million in research grants, endowment contributions, and legislative appropriations.
Bioscience Americas and GIOSTAR are currently developing a stem cell wellness center in Colombia to be associated with and housed within Hospital there. The wellness center will treat patients from both North and South America. A first quarter 2017 opening is expected for the center with several additional centers around the world in various stages of negotiation.
